representation of holbeck urban village

Working @ Round Foundry

Redevelopment of the Round Foundry by CTP St James has helped set new standards for mixed-used development.

The first development to come to life in Holbeck Urban Village has been an award-winning success in regeneration circles. The modern fuses with the vintage to offer businesses a creative community environment in which they can work and prosper.

Round Foundry Media Centre, a key component of the development, was completed in December 2004. It provides purpose-built serviced office accommodation for up to 50 SMEs and start-up companies in the creative and digital sector. The centre has a hot-house atmosphere that combines superb IT infrastructure with networking events and professional development seminars to help businesses flourish.

Further phases of development will see four more buildings restored to their former glory with proposals to house a similar style of media centre for larger companies. Phase II will provide a further 148,686 sq ft of office space. The second media centre will be called the Green Building and is being constructed using sustainable development principles and will cater for alternative forms of energy provisions. The second phase buildings will cater mainly for the office market with ground floor leisure provisions such as cafes and restaurants.

This development was recently bought by Igloo Regeneration, part of Morley Fund Management.
