Working @ Granary Wharf

A well-known and extremely important part of the regeneration programme, Granary Wharf is set for a mixed-use makeover.

Isis, waterside regeneration specialists, have consulted widely on their proposals for this waterfront location, submitted in April 2005.

The site enjoys access to the nearby railway station and proposals include commercial and business accommodation, together with a first class hotel. Work is expected to commence on-site within the year, with thehotel expected to be open by as early as Christmas 2007 and the whole scheme completed by the end of 2008.

The scheme, costing £70 million, will retain the existing businesses in the railway arches and will further complement this with 31,722sq ft of retail and leisure space on the ground floor of the three new buildings.

Importantly it is recognised that this is a public area enjoyed by many residents and workers and as such this scheme has over 70% of the land is given over to public space.
