Mantic Point

Chaperone is a flagship product created by software developer Mantic Point, which is used in healthcare to track mobile medical equipment. It is one of a number of products developed by the company to provide insights into logistics processes. In September 2005 Rolls Royce invested in Mantic Point and assigned two patents to the company. The result was StreamThru, a virtual concierge service for air travellers. Marketing Director Bryan Motteram explains what the Round Foundry Media Centre has to offer a company like Mantic Point.

“We were looking for serviced offices and, at the time, the Round Foundry had just opened, providing high quality accommodation at a fair price. It’s a quieter location than the centre of town, yet you are still only five minutes walk from the station. It's an ideal setting for us.

"We're certainly pleased with the choice because there is a good skills base in the area for software development and the Round Foundry has all the services and amenities required by a software house.

"Many of the other companies based here are from creative, digital and similar technology-based backgrounds which provides a great community feel with everyone working in the same field. People tend to share their ideas here rather than keeping them to themselves.

"We are excited about the way the area is progressing. In the short time we have been here new bars, cafes and restaurants have appeared on our doorstep, which is always handy and helps to provide a great social atmosphere as well as a business atmosphere.”
