Arup engineers were commissioned to produce a feasibility study into the possibility of developing a multi-storey car park on land owned by Leeds City Council, next to the proposed viaduct skywalk.
The study measured demand and capacity for the car park, which would provide parking for adjacent developments, give greater access to the proposed viaduct skywalk and generate income for the management and maintenance of the public realm within Holbeck Urban Village.
It is anticipated that car park would be for those living and working in the urban village only and would help to manage traffic flow in and around the area.
The study has now been completed and the city council are in talks with developers and land owners along witht he plannign department to find a suitable site and developer for the proposed car park.
