The heat is on for Leeds companies to prove their position as major players in the UK’s creative and digital media sector.
The northern city has been chosen to host the second annual Drum awards for the digital industries, known as the DADIs.
A three-way partnership of Holbeck Urban Village, Leeds Media and Marketing Leeds have come together under the Leeds Live it Love it brand to bring the DADIs to the city.
Leeds companies are being encouraged to step up and show why the city’s reputation for creativity and innovation is rapidly surpassing that of elsewhere in the UK.
The award winners will be announced at an event to be held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds this October with entries to be submitted by 30 May 2008.
The DADIs give companies the chance to achieve recognition in more than 30 categories, including best use of visual design, best email strategy, and the coveted Digital Agency of the Year, won last year by ‘Line’ who have since gone on to win new business from prestigious clients such as leading Scottish independent accountancy firm, Henderson Loggie.
The regeneration and growth in Leeds has established it as a desirable location for the creative and digital industries particularly in areas such as Holbeck Urban Village which is expected to generate thousands of new jobs in the sector.
