Sam Moss and business partner Michael Brothwell have almost a decade of brewing experience and have chosen the urban village to establish their new micro brewery.

Working from premises in Holbeck, they have begun the process of setting up the brewery side of the business. They have imported large brewing barrels from Germany and a further consignment from Dewsbury brings the total to 20 barrels.

The brewery is expected to brew 24,000 pints a week, which will be sold through the partners’ new pub at the Round Foundry. The new pub will be their first outlet selling the exclusively brewed Leeds Pale Ale and Leeds Best.

“We originally looked at Water Lane with a view to having the brewery on site but it wasn’t big enough”, says Sam. “The area is set to be fantastic and although the premises were too small for an onsite brewery it was too good an opportunity to miss, so we decided to have the brewery at larger premises in Holbeck not too far away and can still have the pub in the heart of the urban village.”
