Holbeck Urban Village exhibited at the Refuel 2005 conference in partnership with Round Foundry Media Centre. Refuel is a national media marketing and e-business event organised on behalf of Leeds Media. This year's conference took place at the Royal Armouries and involved more than 35 companies exhibiting to over 300 conference delegates.

Holbeck Urban Village promises to become one of the most dynamic business environments in the UK. It will have a unique blend of business, residential and recreational activity fused with art and culture. Refuel 2005 provided an excellent opportunity to promote the area to digital and creative companies.

As levels of development start to rise throughout the village, new accommodation is already coming onto the market. Over the next 10 years Holbeck Urban Village is expected develop a total of around 2 million sq ft in office space and a further 2,500 residential apartments. The Round Foundry Media Centre, which provides high spec serviced office accommodation for growing businesses, has already succeeded in attracting dozens of creative and new media companies to the area.

Vanessa Allen, project manager at Leeds City Council said: "Recent research has shown there is a clear gap in the Leeds market for digital and creative industries to come together and forge business and support links. "The hot-house environment already existing at the Round Foundry Media Centre is an ideal base to grow this new quarter. Leeds has a lot of high quality design, marketing, media, e-business and digital companies. Holbeck Urban Village aims to give them a home and encourage their growth."
