More than 300 select guests, including some of the region’s most prominent professionals and local dignitaries, gathered to be among the first to view the stunning internal spaces of Bridgewater Place.
The opening represents seven years in planning and development by Leeds based joint venture partners Landmark Development Projects and St James’ Securities.
The dramatic steel clad structure now stands a staggering 32 storeys and 110 metres high affording extensive views across the city and beyond. At 400,000 sq ft Bridgewater Place is the region’s largest single structure venue for commercial, leisure and residential use.
In total the scheme incorporates 230,000 sq ft of state of the art office accommodation, 10,000 sq ft of leisure and retail space, 200 luxury apartments and underground parking for some 400 vehicles.
The stunning nine storey glass atrium is a crucial element to the schemes unique proposition and will officially open for through access to the general public in the summer. It offers a light and spacious covered area that permeates right through the site and provides a flexible function space for all users.
Five of the seven ground floor retail and leisure units have been let to Leeds restaurant Sous Le Nez to open a sister eaterie named Sur Le Pont (On The Bridge), high quality sandwich retailer Philpotts, Bagel Nash and The Smoothie Company with a sixth unit currently under off for a convenience store. The final unit is under negotiations with a prominent leisure operator.
