Beeston Hill received the star treatment as local MP Hilary Benn visited to open the new £6.7 million state-of-the-art Beeston Hill Community Health Centre.
The new purpose built facility in Beeston, which was completed in June 2007 is home to two GP practices; the City View Medical Practice and Leeds City Medical Practice as well as containing a number of primary care services including podiatry, speech & language therapy, musculoskeletal services and community nursing teams.
All the services are under one roof ensuring that patients can be cared for in a modern environment close to their own homes.
The new building replaces two former buildings which were outdated, cramped and unsuitable and were inhibiting the development of services for patients.
The centre is the fifth building to be opened across the city as part of the Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) programme, a public and private partnership between Leeds LIFT, Leeds PCT and Leeds City Council.
