When: 7th and 8th April 2008

'What Kind of Place?' is a two day event highlighting various proposals for the Holbeck Urban Village area, ranging from the programme of street works through to some of the buildings themselves.

The exhibitions will also be interspersed with art installations from the 'Secrets and Lights' project commissioned by the Culture Club. This involves a series of works by artists forming a trail through the urban village, based on the theme of secrets and lights and the history of the area.

The two main exhibitions will be held in the Dark Arches and the Round Foundry Media Centre on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th of April with guided tours being held throughout Saturday. A separate stakeholder presentation of all of the major proposals will take place on Friday.

The main purpose of the event for members of the public to have their say on proposed developments such as the re-opening of Sweet Street Bridge and the improvements to Neville Street and Dark Neville Street. Comments will be taken into consideration before more detailed planning applications are submitted
