>> Posted 01/04/08

Where: Royal Armouries
When: 31st October 2008

In a recent creative coup Leeds was announced as the 2008 host for the Drum Awards for Digital Industries (DADIs).

The awards - normally held across the Pennines in Manchester - will take place in October at the Royal Armouries and honour creative and digital design teams at the forefront of their industry.

Accolades include best use of visual design, best email strategy, best podcast or blog and the coveted Digital Agency of the Year, won last year by ‘Line’ who have since gone on to win new business from prestigious clients such as leading Scottish independent accountancy firm, Henderson Loggie.

A three-way partnership of Holbeck Urban Village, Leeds Media and Marketing Leeds has secured the deal to bring the DADIs, a national event for all areas outside of the M25, to the city. Leeds companies are being encouraged to step up and show why the city’s reputation for creativity and innovation is rapidly encroaching on territory that used to be claimed by its Manchester rivals.

In recognition of the creative talent emerging from Leeds universities the awards also offer free entry for all students allowing entry to any category and the chance to compete for the 'Best Student of the Year Award'.
