Where: Tower Works
When: 18th & 21st June 6pm
Architecture Week is an annual week long celebration of high quality design in the built environment and the creation of unique and inviting spaces.
This year the theme for Architecture Week is ‘How Green is Our Space?’ Buildings contribute around 50% of the UK's carbon emissions, with houses making up 25% of that.
The public will be invited to stop, sit, eat and take in the surroundings at the heart of their town or city in what is to be known as an ‘urban picnic’. Inspiration from architects and artists from the region who will be creating the areas for the urban picnics will spark discussion and debate about how we can improve our environment.
There are a number of public events in the Holbeck Urban Village as part of Architecture Week 2007. On Monday 18th and Thursday 21st June, ISIS Waterside Regeneration and Yorkshire Forward are inviting you to join them on a ‘Hard Hat’ tour of Tower Works for a pre-construction walk of the site to enjoy its italianate towers up close and to talk about its commitment to sustainable values.
These events will start at 6pm outside the main gates of Tower Works, 2 Globe Road, Leeds 11. Places are restricted and you will be supplied with hard hats so please book in advance on 0113 3070599 or architectureweek@sueball.co.uk.
