representation of holbeck urban village

Paul & Melissa, age 30

Paul and melissa are husband and wife who have professional careers based in London. They give their verdict on living in Holbeck Urabn Village.

"We live in London but recognised the potential in the area and bought our flat off plan as an investment. We bought in this location because at the time it was affordable and we thought the area would go up in prestige and value. We have now owned the flat for two years and in terms of our forecast for the area we are pleased to say that we weren’t proved wrong.

We support the development of the area as long as it is sustainable and maintains character / architecture. The area is unique and has bags of character. Not many people can boast living next door to Italinate Towers that date back to the industrial revolution. It is encouraging to see that so far the plans for the area have been sympathetic to its history.

Holbeck  Urban Village was a better option for us than the city centre as it was far cheaper and gave much better value for money.  The flat is still very close to city centre and train station and as such benefits from everything that a city centre location would give but still has a community feel and avoids some of the less glamorous pitfalls of city living such grid locked traffic and closing time at the night clubs.

We would certainly recommend that people consider Holbeck Urban Village as a place to live especially  as it is so close the city centre and still close to the countryside. It offers the best of both worlds for all tastes."
