Feedback: Viaduct skywalk

Needs to link all the way to the station.
This is the ambition for this scheme, but another station entrance would need to be added and it will also require another ticket barrier.
Needs to 'to' and 'from' somewhere
A pedestrian flow study is currently been completed, but the main intention is that it wil become a destination in its own right as a public park.
Greenway to escape city noise and enjoy the skyline.
Agreed - it is intended as a park.
A refreshments kiosk in the Summer.
Facilities are being looked at with regard to architecture, use and other interests.
Security would be needed and lots of lighting for safety.
This is agreed as a key issue and relates to the uses which are under investigation.
Access links to blocks via 'funky' bridges.
Adjacent developers have said they will be keen to have bridges onto it. The extent of public use of these and vertical access has to be negotiated with them.
Vertical access and access for disabled people needed.
This is part of the current study and is of course an importnat consideration.
Palm trees and victorian lighting would be nice.
Trees are being planned including ones which could be planted at ground level and grow up through holes in theviaduct floor. The Victorian plam tree theme is not universally liked.
Will there be access for cycles.
There will be access at ground level and this is being considered at the viaduct level although it is not particularly wide and they may not fit in.
Trams would be good.
Not enough space to do this as well as a walkway and the money for this has not been cleared by the Transport Secretary for Leeds.
Line with sculptures and use water features.
These comments will be passed on for inclusion in the Holbeck Urban Village Arts Strategy.
Think of maintenance.
Agreed - this is again part of the current study being undertaken.
Vandals throw missiles off at present.
It is accepted that this , and security are major issues. The following remedies are being considered:
1. removal of potential ammunition e.g., bricks and debris
2. Minimise pedestrian routes running directly beneath the viaduct.
3. Provide protection where routes do run beneath the viaduct.
