Should preserve most interesting features and put in good quality new buildings. |
The vision which is set out in the Revised Planning Framework is do precisely this. |
Tower Works and Temple Works are outstanding features. Keep as many views of the former as possible. |
This is taken into consideration on all planning applications. |
Look for beauty in old buildings that are already there and match old with new to keep some of the mystery. |
Agreed, as above. |
Keep aspects of the engineering and manufacturing background in an up to date environment. |
the streetworks team team will ensure this is kept with the Materials Design Guide and key pieces such as the old Boulton and Watt machine at the Round Foundry site. |
Please remove ugly buildings such as that at the top of Marshall's Street on Water Lane. |
See developers proposals for this site. |
It gives the place its character and identity. |
Agreed. |
Make it more accessible but don't 'gentrify' it - increased property prices could push out present residnets. |
Most former residents have long gone and the buildings are alrgely derilict. Businesses that are still there such as Dvaid Street Cafe will be worked with on a one-to level to ensure they do not feel pushed. Residents will be able to benefit the affordable housing allocations in various schemes. |
More interpretation needed. The Secrets and Lights exhibitions were a good start but more needs to be done which could increase the potential of the urban village as a visitor attraction. |
Agreed. |
