A short walk from Leeds Railway Station and at the edge of of the M621 entering Leeds from the south, Holbeck Urban Village has more to offer the style-savvy creative and digital sector than a place to do business.

Originally a quiet hamlet, Holbeck became the powerhouse of the Industrial Revolution in Leeds, with its innovators and entrepreneurs exporting machinery and textiles to all parts of the world. Now the area is once again set to take centre stage as a new generation of digital entrepreneurs takes over the listed foundries, mills and workshops bequeathed by tailors, textile workers and steam engineers.

The new pioneers are a creative generation powered by hi-tech computers and digital technology. Architectural practices, artists, design companies, film-makers, games developers and web consultancies have found their place alongside cool cafes, restaurants and bars serving the new business and residential community.

Moving further south artists studios and creative workspaces such as Umbrella Creative Studios and East Street Arts are giving rise to artistic collaborations and forming pop-up galleries and work spaces, immersed in traditional residential communities.

Explore this area of the site to meet some of the businesses who call this place home, find out more about the Leeds creative and digital scene, and how you and your company can be part of it.
