Time is running out for buyers looking to take advantage of the Government backed HomeBuy Direct scheme which could see you buying a home with just a 5% deposit at the stunning Granary Wharf development south of Leeds city centre.
The HomeBuy Direct scheme allows first-time buyers who earn less than £60,000 per year the chance to purchase a home by offering up to a 30% equity loan which means they only have to pay 70% of the price through a combination of mortgage and savings – usually borrowing 65% with a 5% deposit. This is the last chance to buy using the scheme which ends in September this year meaning any reservations must be made by the end of July.

Prospective buyers could soon be living in a stunning, contemporary waterside apartment with studio apartment available for just £99,950, meaning only a £3499 deposit needed and a monthly mortgage payment of just £362.64. One bedroom apartments are available from £132,950 and two bedroom apartments start at £179,950.
Potential purchasers can find out more about the scheme at a special HomeBuy Direct sales event taking place on Thursday 29 July from 12pm – 8pm at the Granary Wharf sales office, where the sales team will be on hand throughout the day to give tours of the development, the stunning rooftop terraces and the five show apartments.
Comment Hollie Reynolds: “People will always want high quality homes and the HomeBuy Direct scheme has been extremely successful at Granary Wharf – however, time and apartments are running out. Our developments cater for all shapes and sizes with two distinctive residential apartment blocks including the eye-catching copper-clad Waterman’s Place development which is already more than two-thirds sold, and the stunning cylindrical Candle House, both of which offer striking roof-top gardens. The area has a real buzz around it as we host a schedule of activities throughout the year including events such as the monthly Granary Wharf pannier markets which draw more than 1000 people to the development every month.

“It’s a growing community and an ideal location for those looking for somewhere to set up their first home. We urge people to come down to the event and find out more and also have the chance to enter a prize draw to win £1000 worth of Thomas Cook holiday vouchers.”
Granary Wharf has also benefitted from Leeds’ largest hotel, City Inn, which opened in September 2009 and incorporates the city’s only Sky Lounge with 360 degree views. In the commercial spaces long-term resident restaurant Wasabi Teppan-yaki and newly opened Ossett Brewery bar ‘The Hop’ add to the vibrant atmosphere of the area and the high standard of local bars and restaurants. The development has also revitalised the waterways with newly regenerated public areas, canal side landscapes and a fully restored and working graving dock.
